Myth: Old-aged person cannot get the surgery

Fact: Well! Whether it is hip or knee replacement, both the procedures are safe and successful to undergo at any age. You will be administered the anesthesia and given the best possible care. It means you do not have to live with pain.

Myth: A young person cannot get surgery

Fact: With the latest technology and treatment, artificial joints can be made which helps in improving the person’s mobility as compared to earlier and they even last for a long time. Ideally, they can last for 15 to 20 years. If the first replacement wears out then you can go for another one. 

Myth: Excess weight

Fact: Patients diagnosed with knee arthritis will face difficulty losing weight as they are not even able to walk properly. It is best for the patients to do exercise and then they will lose weight. This will reduce the pain once they get a knee replacement. 

Myth: Recovery takes a long time

Fact: After getting the surgery you can walk within 24 hours. You will be discharged from the hospital within 3 to 4 days after the treatment. After the knee replacement, healing and recovery will take around 4 to 6 weeks.
